Sorry for my ignorance about photography, but how can I know how dirty is my sensor [well, my camera's sensor].

Take a shot of the blue sky at around f22 and then equalize it in Photoshop.

Haven't cleaned in ages. So far nothing that the clone brush can not handle...  Smile

Lol, greatest thread ever  thumbsup

Well, here is mine a month ago:

Big version: Width: 640 Height: 426 File size: 335kb
Dirty sensor

After editing the picture above I decided it was time to clean my sensor. I also had an old 24mm lens with fungus in it and wanted that lens cleaned, so I considered that a good occasion to visit my local photo shop and have lens and camera cleaned (and have a sneak peak at the D200  yes  ). They cleaned the sensor and mirror from my D100 and I have to say, the result is brilliant. Not a single spot left. It costed me EUR 55 which I consider to be quite expensive for the work done.

They also told me that the dust was probably caused mainly by my old trusted 35-70 push pull zoom which I virtually use all the time. It "pumps" the dust to the sensor. Might be true or not but the longer I think about it, the more I think it can be true.

The 20D I'm currently using, not too bad but still adds 10 minutes onto my editing time! Piece of junk! LOL! Big grin
