Categories "Special" And "Hybrid" (by Invader Jan 19 2006 in Aviation Photography)
The editors and screeners are currently discussing the rules mentioned above
and the help text says
If the photo is picturing an aircraft with a special colorful paint scheme, mark this box. This only includes rare paint schemes that are limited to one or a few aircraft.
For other unusual paint schemes like hybrids or special markings
, choose the Hybrid / Special Markings button instead.
Note that this is ONLY for airliners! Not for helicopters, blimps, props etc."
This includes all kinds of unusual paint schemes that doesn't fit into the Special Paint Schemes category. Examples are mixtures of two airlines paint schemes (hybrids) or special markings that are limited to one or a few aircraft
. Airliners without paint scheme or in an all white paint scheme should also be included here.
Note that this is ONLY for airliners! Not for helicopters, blimps, props etc.
Now this leaves some room for confusion. Shouldn't the help text the thing people can rely upon?
