Contrast Rejection... Could Anybody Help?

Wed Aug 23, 2006 1:52 am

Ahoy guys.

I just got a very (IMO) strange contrast rejection... It seems that sun+me means bad contrast...

Could you tell me your opinion?

not sun, but high, mid-day sun.

Also your shoot is not level.

Hi David,

I agree with Royal. I feel the image needs a bit CW rotation.

The image is quite dark (check your histogram for the white end of the spectrum). The sun was not side-on to the aircraft, which has caused problems.

But most of all, as Royal says the sun is high in the sky and that always causes issues with unpleasant contrast. Try the shot a few hours earlier in the day (or a fair bit later) for a much nicer result.

I wasn't there earlier, because I sleep so much. :-P The pic. was taken at 12 AM, and I like to spot then. But - as you said - it is better to spot earlier in the mornings... So... I'll do as you advised.  Smile

Regards,
David

PS: Salvagable, or just for the personal collection?
