C&C For Two Dusk Shots In The Queue Please

I've not had much luck of getting dusk shots accepted and would appreciate some comment and constructive critique from the group.

I fear the Cargolux shot may be too soft (?), but have high hopes for the JAL Cargo.

I don´t know. There´s something wrong but I can´t figure it out right. I see them oversharpened but also there might have been some problem with the compression. You´ll see what I mean on the JAL Cargo titles, on the slats and on the rear part of the engines of the right wing. The Cargolux suffers the same problem, but with a bit of grain on some parts.

I would have to agree... JAL has some bad JPEG compression (wing trailing edge, tail). Cargolux is pretty grainy overall.

I think the JAL shot is salvageable - it's not compression you're seeing, rather a sharpening artefact ('halo') caused by USM increasing the relative contrast around the edge - quite easily fixable - use JeffM's mask technique or various selection tools, whatever you find easier.

Alas, I'm still carving my images caveman-style with PSE 2.0.  Sad However, I've recently been made aware of Adobe's promo allowing PSE owners to trade-up to CS2 for $299. Planning to make that swap in the next couple of days.
