LHR: Myrtle Ave Out Of Use From Sept 10th

Thu Sep 07, 2006 5:04 am

Heads up for anyone coming to LHR soon, taxiway extensions on 27R will result in runway 27R being closed to all outbound traffic with effect from September 10th for around 10 weeks. This information has been reported by my local newspaper 'The Feltham Chronicle' and BAA have confirmed the details as being correct.

The net result is that approach shots will only be available from 27R (near the BA 744/777 hangars), the upside is that the old Esso garage spot will now be available for take off shots all day long, but Myrtle Avenue is a waste of time from Sunday until late November.

Good news.

Bad news if the huts shut for parking. The gates are up but not working yet!

This evening was beautiful...If weather is nice on monday, I may walk around and look for the Esso garage. If the easterly winds continues on monday, I'll make my way to 9L. I missed going out there today. Sad Absolutely fine lighting.
