AMS Photo Location

Sat Sep 09, 2006 1:08 am

Could someone tell me where exactly I have to go to get shots from here? What is this area called? I will be connecting at AMS soon and want to get a few shots of NW DC-10's. Thanks

It's called the "Panorama Terrace". It's reachable from within the airport. Just have a look at www.schiphol.nl and search for "terrace".

That section of the terrace has been closed for construction or something? The rest of the terrace is still open.

keep in mind the terrace is landside, so you will have to go thru security again

that section is indeed closed, and will remain closed for at least 6 months (spoke to someone working there yesterday).

Will there be any NW DC-10 parked near the place that is open then?

unlikely. There are few of them left (only one or two per day) and they're usually parked on the now inaccessible side of the E concourse or near the very tip of the accessible side where they're pretty much invisible from the terrace.

The terminal area between E and F gates (airside) might be ok to see one or two (if you're lucky). Pretty good seats as well.
