Help Me Find Borders On My Picture Please...

Thu Sep 21, 2006 3:21 am

I just got two rejections, one being for bad borders on the following picture: http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...ections/big/20060920_ET-AJS_02.jpg

I've looked everywhere but can't find borders anywhere. Can someone, maybe of the screening team, help me out here ?

As for the second rejection another motiv one (It seems I collect them the last few months  Wink ) http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/20060920_thai_05.jpg

I suppose I won't be able to save the motiv do I ?

Kind Regards
Chris

Upper right corner for the first one and too much clutter for the second.

First one:

Very top-right corner, maybe a 2-pixel high black line.

Here's the new version (hopefully without borders  Wink ) : http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/ET-AJS_04.jpg

If someone can see any other flaws with it don't hesitate to mention them here  Smile

The new version is better.

But IMO the second photo you posted in the 1st post is just very nice. Nothing is blocking the a/c, so I don't understand the clutter problem.

A little bit of contrast towards the darker side I would add to the first one.

As for the second one did you add a comment to the photo ? Maybe that could've helped ?

How much A is there is Airliners Net ? 0 or nothing ?

Indeed nothing is blocking, but I suppose that there are too much non aviation things in the picture. I knew the risk I took when I uploaded. But as some say: No risk no fun  Wink

No I didn't add a comment. Maybe I should have done that. Good Idea for the future  Smile

As for the first of the first post I can see a contrast problem caused by semi-backlighting, i suggest a boost of contrast making sure bad_dark does not cum into play would make it better,

I think the second one is actually very nice. I would have loved to see it in the db. These are what A.net needs more of. Shots that vary from the standard side on motive. It really gets old after a while. You would think, with the db exceding a million, they would make an effort to add more unique material, but i guess not.

I agree, the second one does look nice. IMHO, the buses and people on the foreground don't distract attention from the aircraft but actually create a nice framing making the picture more 'alive'. The airplane still dominates in all her glory ...

Again thanks for the nice comments !! I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who likes the picture  Smile

However won't consider an appeal or a re upload unless a screener says the contrary - or should I risk it ?  Wink

As for the contrast on the 757 close up, I'll try to see if I can improve it later today.

I also have had a picture rejected for "Personal Borders" I can't find this rejection reason anywhere, and I'm confused as I can't see any of the usual borders that sometimes get missed.

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...20060921_N109MJ_1_IOM_DSC_8637.jpg

I haven't recieved a rejection e-mail yet, and now I'm at work I cannot access my personal e-mail, so if theres a message from the screener I haven't yet seen it.

Andy,

Look at the bottom right of your picture. There is a small white border.

Hope that helps

I agree. The 2nd photo is a good study of both aircraft and this viewing area. Having not seen this area before (i have not visited ZRH) i think it would be a very good addition to the DB.

Yup, you are right there Chris. Thanks. Sometimes it takes a second pair of eyes to see the obvious! Big grin

I think it all happens when the cropping is done as its happened to me also.
What to look out for when cropping is that on CS2 anyway is that the crop angle can change so slightly that its not noticeable so when your cropping so near the edge of the frame and the angle of the crop is changed you get that border.
What i look out for more now is the change of colour of the cropping outline .

It's nice to see everyone likes the Thai shot. At least I got the opportunity to share it in the forums.  Smile
