Comments And Suggestions Requested

Mon Sep 25, 2006 4:46 am

Looking for comments and suggestions on the following pictures prior to submitting for approval/rejection. I will point out that I understand that they might need to be cropped down so that they don't "look too far in the distance, resulting in too much 'empty space' in the image".

Hi Louis,

You need to make the first shot 1024x... i.s.o. 1600 wide. I'm not sure about the quality of that shot.
The second shot looks pretty ok to me already.

Hi Louis,

For the Prowler shot I would suggest not uploading at 1600 wide unless quality is outstanding. As-is, it will probably be rejected. First step would be to process the image for a final output of 1200 or better yet, 1024 width. The quality is just not there (IMO) for 1600.

On the Hornets shot, the aspect ratio is a bit off, again IMO. For a width of 1024, the height should be around 685 or so. While this one is beter quality-wise, I feel it'll get a quality rejection. Some areas are sharp, some are soft.

What camera are these being shot with? (sorry, I forget from previous topics if you've mentioned that)

I could have sworn that the Prowler was uploaded at 1024x694. Here is a link to the 1024 size photo: http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne...text=set-72157594290188310&size=o. Sorry that it is not from myaviation.net, but this is the quickest way to get the correct size photo on here for review.

For the Hornets, it does look like I need to come up some on the bottom during the crop. Please elaborate as to where you feel it is sharp and what is soft.

These photos were shot with a Nikon D70 and a Tamron 70-300mm lens.

I think with a proper edit, they are salvagble. Nice shots.
