Breaking In A New Monitor

Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:34 am

Just come back from a few days in AMS, and have got a new set up to break in. I have a lovely Apple 23" LCD monitor.

Anyway, this is my first effort. Is the sharpening anywhere near the mark?

Looks jagged to me along the cheat line, and the trailing edges...

The sky seems a bit too grainy to me. And what's that odd line below the No. 1 engine?

Well, that's why I asked. I don't exactly see those very often.  Wink

Hello Andy

I feel this photo is slightly blurry which could be easily identified by the main landing gear at the right lower corner of the frame. Well, it might be very very hard to get a pin sharp panning photo, though.

It is, and very difficult to get the whole a/c pin sharp. The weather in AMS was so bad over the weekend, I had plenty of time to practice. I don't think I can save this with a crop, as the props will get cropped off.

It looks ok on one of my old monitors, and when I print the photo it's fine. However, on my new monitor I see a bit of grain as well. Last time I changed monitors, it took me a while to get used to it. I now have a new monitor, and a completely new computer to get used to. It's my first time using a Mac, so I am having a few conversion problems.

But am I right in saying the rest of the photo is sharp?

Cheers
