Motiv Rejection. But Why?

Wed Oct 04, 2006 3:44 am

Can't seem to figure this one out..... I've received a motiv rejection for this:

What I can't understand is it's the first window shot pic of Ryanair's Dreamliner with winglets, given these two are already on the db without:

(Both nice shots BTW).
What gives? Why motiv? Please.

Appeal it! Nice shot, don't see what the motiv issue would be.

Well one thing that comes to mind is the engine is cut off and the angle of the shot is a bit different. I am no expert in shots like this but look at the two pics you posted as comparisons. Much cleaner, nothing cut off and and angle of the shot has it a little more downward and it just adds so much more to the shot. Yours has the viewer looking up in space and I just feel not seeing the entire engine takes a little away.

There's a lot of dead space, with nothing that interesting in the top right.

Behind the winglet, a brown area that looks like some sort of a reflection would be my guesss at motive.

Thanks guys but,

Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 2):
but look at the two pics you posted as comparisons

They weren't comparisons, merely showing that I have searched for this aircraft + window view and this is all I came up with.

Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 2):
nothing cut off

Seems the first pic has the engine cut off too.....

Looked like a rogue cloud to me in the full size image. But if it's going to cause a problem I'll clone it out?
Thanks again.

But that one has some interesting clouds and mountains to show.

The others have something "interesting" to look like like cloud layers in the examples.

With yours, there's not much there to keep you looking.

Willem..

I recognise I do have some kind of ENVY watching where are you flying Big grin
I'm happy to see you have such opportunities..

About the rejection ( Spencer's one..) at least to my eyes the winglet is not focused/not sharp and the engine is cut off. The sky is not showing anything interesting... If the reason was the brown area as Mick says It would be a quality call instead of motive...

Cheers

Winglet focus looks fine to me. Now, is A.net an aircraft site, or a nature site? Should I make sure I shoot these kind of shots when and if I'm passing the Alps next time, with of course some beautiful cloud formations????

Spencer it's a nice shot, but there really isn't anything to look at in the whole top right corner, new winglet or not. I'm guessing that's where the rejection came from.

Tim.

Anybody with a little bit of aviation blood running through his vanes would Enrique.

This one took me about 1.5 year preparation and 4 trips up and down to France, they don't come easy.

But we are drifting of topic  Smile

Hi.
Sorry for posting it again. I had this one rejected for info the first time and after I fixed it for motiv

https://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...big/20061003_DDR-SPW_170906_30.jpg

In this thread What Caused This Motive Rejection? (by AirKas1 Sep 27 2006 in Aviation Photography)

I got told it might get caused by the background - I don't think that the background can ruin this shot cause I found it very interesting. What are your opinions? Maybe a screener can tell me the truth.

Thanks for your help and forgive me that I posted it again, but I thought this new started thread will get more attention thru it's title.

Spencer, I've told you this before - you need to fly on bad weather day's! That way you'll get decent cloud and effects so you can upload them to airliners, when will you listen?!

Oh and by the way, I can't find anything wrong with the pic, nice shot. Keep it in your personal collection, it's a.net's loss, not yours!

When you coming back over to the UK Spence? Maybe it's time I start looking at flights to GOT/GSE again!  Wink

This isn't fighters.net or airportterminals.net either, and we have enough of those.

It's a pretty interesting shot of the top of a cloud layer with mountains poking through. I don't know what I'm looking at in Spencer's.

Doesn't look like a cloud to me, I've never seen one anything like that. I have the feeling that's the reason for the rejection.

Take the screener's advice!  Wink
