Need Help With A Photo

Wed Oct 18, 2006 12:25 am

Hi guys,

Yesterdaynight I've made some non-av photos, but I'm hoping some of you can help me with a problem.

I was practising my night photography on a bridge, but in most shots there's a significant amount of flare visible. I've picked out the worst the photo (see below) and only resized it:

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 683 File size: 441kb
booo

How do I get rid of these round flares if I may call it that? Would I need a filter of somesort?
Any help is much appreciated.

Below are 2 other photos which did turn out good, for those who are interested:

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 533 File size: 291kb

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 600 File size: 553kb

Thanks,

Kas

Nice shots there Kas; especially the 3rd one --> very nice lighting!

As for the flare thing, it might have been caused by small dust particles on the lens or even small droplets of water.

D'oh  banghead

It could be, as I didn't clean it before shooting...  ashamed

Got some sort of filter on the lens? If so remove and try again - they can be known to cause this.

Hi Martin,

I don't have filters for my lens.

So I guess my best bet is to just remember to wipe the lens clean before a shoot. I'll try to remember Big grin

Im pretty sure dust doesn't cause this.

you can see dust in the air under a light right? This is because dust reflects the light. Couple this with a lens and it might very well be.
