Too Dark?

Mon Oct 30, 2006 6:19 am

Is this shot too dark?

Anything else you can find that's wrong with it?

Hi Gordon,

Maybe a little bit brighter wouldn't hurt. But the image is very grainy too.

Thanks guys, here is an updated version:

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/klmwingview.jpg

I suspect that it still is a little too grainy and dark. I sharpened it some and brightened it some.

Here is the other shot I have in the queue:

Is it too dark as well?

The first one is still too grainy and the second one you posted, is dark and needs some serious clockwise rotation.

Hi Gordon,

The 747 is not level, needs about 1.9º CW rotation and it suffers from bad light. You can improve that a little by playing around with the middle marker in the levels adjustment in PS (I would increase at least 0.25).
Just sit back, relax and have a glass of Merlot...enjoy your life!

First photo is still to dark and very grainy, also lacks quality, the second one is in major need of leveling and lightening up too.

Other then being too dark, there is nothing of interest.

Both look very grainy. Second one looks like a weird size to me.

One other point of help, when cropping a foreward fuselage photo always have a reason for cropping to a certain point, for example, why have you cropped right through the Angolan flag?Would have been better to include it or lose it.

I think photo #1 lacks motive on top of all the other deficiencies mentioned above. What exactly are you showing us? The wing?Or is it the clouds? Not too much to show IMO.
Shot #2 is severely underexposed and you tried to compensate which blew out the sky completely.
I would pull both of these shots from the Q.

So I pulled the second one because of the obvious rotation issue but I kept the first one.

I was comparing the first one to this shot:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0596533/L/

To me they seem sort of similar.
