Cropping Advice

Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:08 am

Hi guys,

I had this photo rejected for "centered":

Fair enough, the main object IS quite a bit to the left, but I thought that such cropping would be justified by having that Piper on the right, than the helicopter would be sort of balanced out by it. At the time I thought it was a good idea; well, apparently it hadn't been as the photo was rejected  Smile ...

Should I have left more of the Piper in the shot (like include the other prop in the picture, or should I have disregarded its presence at all?

Here what it looked like originally (unprocessed, size changed a bit for convenience):

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Andrei.

Nope, crop the piper out and centre the chopper. I don't see the benefit of having the piper in the shot.

BTW - The Edge shot I was working on its not going to make the grade. Too much heathaze and the shot is not quite up to anet standards in my opinion.

Thanks, Martin. I just thought it would be a shame to cut a perfectly good airplane in half  Wink . I guess it was a bit of poor judgement on my part...

No way - far from poor judgment - its a perfectly great image the way it is outside of the anet rules and regs!
