Is This Salvagable?

Mon Dec 25, 2006 2:58 am

Looking back through a few older rejections of mine I'm looking for some editting advice on this photo. Originally rejected for Contrast, I'm having problems sorting out the issues on this one because of the harsh lighting.

Any help is appreciated!

Dan

Definitely salvageable as the motiv is great and quality good!
What you need to do is get rid of the blue color cast.

There are also small jaggies on top of the port engine nacelle. While you're at it, reduce the image size so that the slight amount of grain visible will disappear.

Nice shot mate!

Can I ask what your workflow was to rid the blue so well? The methods I've tried seem to dull the photo as well as add a slight purple cast to it.

Thanks,
Dan

I used the color temperature tool; if you "heaten" up the image you get rid of the blue tone.

The edit by Thierry does a good job of fixing the contrast which I think was really a by-product of the color temperature.

Great shot - fantastic prop and water blur with sharp aircraft. Doesn't get any better.
