Help With Cockpit Shot

Fri Jan 05, 2007 4:11 pm

Hi all:

I think I'm getting there...my acceptance ratio has been steadily growing, especially since I used a 350D for the first time this summer as opposed to my point-and-shoot HP and loved every second of it.

I have a question about the chances I have with this photo of a C-17 overhead panel. I was wondering if the quality is there for a 1200x800 upload (the one I currently have in the queue), since it makes the switches so much easier to read. However, if it won't make it into the database in the larger size, is 1024x acceptable instead? I was also wondering if it could use a bit of CCW rotation (maybe .1 degrees?)...might just be me, though.

Can it be improved by shrinking it to 1024x or is the larger version okay? Thanks!

Why the panel shot?.. I can't see the motive appeal. Also prob could use some CCW rotation.

No, I'm afraid it's blurred.

The Halo's that the over-exposed white area that the bottom in each corner are causing, kills it. I personally can't see the motive appeal either. The whole cockpit area yes, but not an overhead.

Any idea why this would not be considered an acceptable motive? I understand the overexposed windows detracting from the image as a whole, but IIRC I've seen tons of overhead panel photos on A.net. Is this no longer accepted?

Perhaps this is one to keep for my personal collection.

As far as I know its still accepted if done properly. Also pays to check when the shots you've seen were added to the DB. If they were added a while back, then its safe to say they are hard to get accepted.
