Maks 2007 FAQ

Thu Jan 11, 2007 6:42 am

Hi folks,

At the last time I'm and my friends got a number of letters regarded MAKS 2007. Many similar questions were asked. To simplify the process of answering I'd like to propose this thread to give a chance to discuss further event and to make a useful link for people with their questions.

So, there the first questions (I just took them fro two last letters) and the first answers:

1. I am trying for a while to find an information about MAKS 2007. I even contacted via e-mail the aviasalon, but didn't receive any answer.

It's obvious. Things here go on a little bit other way as in Europe. Slower a bit. Try to contact them closer to date - there are number of opportunities to participate: media accrediation, business tickets (relatively expensive in compare with regular ones but give you a chance to get in business days - the only useful for photo) - as I can understand you can oder them in advance, regular tickets - you can buy it before at the city or right there. The best way to do things - try to call them few weeks before. E-mail is the thing which can be not replyed (I'm waiting for reply from Al-Ain for the few days already). Use both - e-mail and call. Do not be lazy to make additional call to confirm everything is Ok. Use this web site as well: http://www.aviasalon.com/en/maks.html

Do you know if normally is possible to buy in advance -via internet- public tickets for the MAKS?

As I told - look website above. I think there were some abilities of e-booking at previous MAKS but through the local e-booking systems. AGAIN - closer to dates I'll (or those of you who got info first) try to give more info.

Which Moscow airport is closer to the airshow?

Bykovo. But it will not help you - its only for domestic traffic and very limited one. From international airports - Domodedovo (DME). It is what I'd say not too far - DME on the south of Moscow and UUBW is on S-E. Sheremetievo (SVO) is right opposite side of Moscow - on the N-W.

Do you have any hotel ... around the airfield, which have a good service and it's not too expensive for double or triple rooms?

Guys... There are the greatest achievement of the Humanity - the Internet and the searching systems. Let me give a brief advertising of Google and Yahoo - just put 'hotels Moscow' or 'hotel Zhukovsky Ramenskoe'. It should help you with everything regarded the issue. We are in same conditions my friends - it is not often I look for hotel info at LED or MOW - I just live here.

Use these links:

On my own experience - if you not look for luxury and prefer cheap price - Izmailovo could be a good solution.

There are few hotels at Zhukovsky and Ramenskoe (airport is based in between of two towns) - less chances for english speaking service but you may try:

You may also try to rent a flat at Zhukovsky or Moscow - it might be even more useful: http://www.euroapartments.ru/

What kind of transports can you use to reach the airshow? Can we use the metro?

No metro is there - it is about 30 km from the city. Local train is the best. Travelling especially in public days by car or taxi can take 4 hrs - its my own experience. NEVER do it. Or if you rent a bus for group of you - wake up very early... Leave Moscow not late than at 7.30 am.

Local train form Kazansky railroad terminal will bring you to the station 'Otdykh' in 1 hr or bit more. There will be free shuttle buses form there. Additional 10-30 min depending on the traffic at Zhukovsky. Key problem - very few english speaking people can help you on that way. That is global problem as here as in many other states - nothing uniqie.

Thats all in brief for the moment. You welcome with further questions.

Regards,

Fyodor Borisov
