Is This One For The Db?

Sun Jan 21, 2007 6:27 am

hi all,

Some time ago my aunt's neighbour gave me a pic I found most interesting. Here is a scan of it:

http://members.inode.at/ma.buttinger/szg_1939.jpg

She told me that in the summer of 1939 she and her late husband took their first flight ever: A scenic ride over Salzburg in this aircraft.

So the persons visible in the pic are: Her (who explicitly gave me the permission to publish it), her husband (deceased many years ago) and the unknown pilot (but he was surely photographed many times that day...).

Now: Is this pic worth an upload attempt (especially in regard to the persons visible, but also possible issues with the motive)?

Thanks for your advice,
Markus.

P.S.: If you think that it's not, I'd at least appreciate if someone could tell me the type of plane pictured...

I love it - it's a piece of history and I love their smiling faces, they look so happy!  Smile

I think it should be in--a great historical shot (and of great quality, too!)

As for the people, put a note in about the permissions, and I'd hope that the shot wouldn't get bounced for it.
Why yes, in fact, I am a rocket scientist...

I don't think the people will be a problem.

It looks like a Klemm aircraft to me, maybe a L 25 (designated Kl 25 by 1939?)

It doesn't seem to have a gull wing like the Kl 35.

Thanks for your replies and opinions, so far, guys. - Keep them coming!
And, Peter, thank you for the hint with the Klemm L 25.

Any crew member reading this want to comment on whether this pic has a chance of getting accepted?

Thanks,
Markus.

That shot is just such a fantastic capture. It represents history! I love the fact that they're all smiling and having a good time!  Smile

I hope to see this in the database soon.

Thanks, so far, guys.
This is my last try to get some more thoughts on it, so anybody else (possibly a screener) want to comment on the pic's chances (before I make a fool out of myself by uploading it)?  Wink

Markus.

Certianly not, I think this shot is really worth an upload, it's a great historical picture! I'm not a screener but I'd love to have a shot like that to upload, as a photographer!
It's not about AIRBUS. it's not about BOEING. It's all about the beauty of FLYING.
