Maybe You Can Change My Mind.

Mon Jan 22, 2007 5:54 am

Here is the only shot that I thought was even close. Basically, I only cropped it and sharpened it (probably too much) and it still seems soft in some places. Thankfully the 'defect' is masked by the landing gear, and I suspect the darkness on the underside is another fault. Your opinions are appreciated:

Ted,

Seems a lil oversharpened buddy. Contrast is way too heavy too.

Lemme have a go with the raw image, I'll post on here.

Hi Ted,

It looks as though the original is out of focus there or is suffering from some motion blur. This is evident around the rear of the aircraft and the nose on your edit. I'm not sure if the aspect ratio of your edit would be acceptable either. There seem to be problems when you don't upload at either 3:2 or 4:3.

Regards,

Tim.

Ted I had a play with it, and I noticed that tail is out of focus or blurry. As mentioned by Tim.

Here it is anyway:

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 683 File size: 383kb

Sorry pal...

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!!

I realized (at the time this plane was throttling up) that all my shots were 'too slow'. I speed it up, but I guess not enough.

Here is a non av photo that I took this afternoon and only re-sized.

To me it is definetly oversharpened. The crop needs to be tighter. It is also underexposed (dark) and has dirt in the lower left hand side. In addition the crop/aspect ratio of the photo is a bit off. Have you tried Fergul's workflow?
