AirNikon Memorial Service Was Monday Jan 29th.

Tue Jan 30, 2007 4:00 pm

All - just wanted to tell anyone interested that AirNikon's memorial service was Monday in Riverside, CA. I was honored to attend this wonderful service at the National Cemetery located adjacent to March Air Reserve Base. I'd estimate 40 to 50 of Mickey's extended family of friends attended, including former coworkers/friends in the aviation and airline industries and other personal friends from outside those industries. His U.S. Military Veteran status was secured in the mid 1970s during his attendance at the United States Air Force Academy. As a result, he was given a military memorial service complete with flag-bearing honor guard and a 12-gun salute. The U.S. flag that adorned his casket was folded and presented to his long-time friend and former boss Wayne, the gentleman that discovered Mickey passed away at his residence in late November. The service was a fitting tribute to a fine man and finally allowed many of his friends to publicly share feelings about their friendship with Mickey and pay final respects.

Additionally, I continue to post photos at my tribute to AirNikon web page. In the next couple of days I'll add some photos from the service. The URL is:

Royal - Subject came up Sunday night at dinner and if I'm not mistaken an aviation historical society in Orange County, CA will take possession of his aviation stuff. Not sure which specific society was referred to.
