Fuji 9500 Pic

Tue Feb 06, 2007 5:08 am

Hi all,

Can I have your comments on this pic please taken with my Fuji 9500.Only editing was slight USM and resizing. Its a while since I submitted a Fuji shot and just wondered whether it can still make the criteria for ANet.

0.61CW, some sharpening and a tad brightening, and you're all set to go!

Hi Andy,

Honestly, I would give it at the most a 50-50 chance. It looks very soft/blurry here on my monitor, and I don't really know if it is correctable. Be careful if you want to brighten up the picture, stay with levels adjustment only, as using the brightness tool might make too much grain visible. And agree with the suggested rotation.

Andy,

The front looks ever so slightly blurry, OOF, but maybe with careful sharpening you might be able to get it. Light wise, its fine, and a little CW rotation should level it up okay.

Good luck, nice to see an RAF Apache

Hi,

Cheers for the advice guys.2nd edit below, slightly upped the levels and applied slightly more USM.

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 683 File size: 699kb

Not too sure where you see the blurry, although there is a lot of crap on the airframe which may appear like blur, see below. The above pic was taken at 46mm and hardly cropped at all,is it really grainy?Pic below shows the matt type paint which may make it look grainy. Is 2nd edit better?

Thanks again

Andy,

The first one is now slightly oversharpened. Try using the eraser in a duplicate layer (if using PS) on the jagged parts.

The second is nice bar one BIG issue, you cut off the front gear! Include it, and you have a chance.

PM me if you'd like me to look at the originals for you.

Hi,

Cheers Colin. Thanks for the offer,I'll send PM just now.The 2nd was just for reference to the paintwork,I was too excited being up close and personal to my first Apache and having just got out of the cockpit I wasnt really worrying about A.Net motiv issues!!The wheel is cut off at full fram so can't be fixed, lol.

Thanks again
Andy
