Contrast Rejection

Thu Apr 05, 2007 2:25 am

HI all,

Is there a problem with the contrast on this shot, as I really don't see it.

Hello Colin

It looks hazy and flat.

Hi Colin - hope you are well.

Having took it quickly into CS2 it does seem to benefit from a 'slight' curves adjustment to provide a little boost in the contrast.

Nice shot nevertheless.

Colin,
The contrast is too low. If you look at what you should expect to be the blackest of blacks, it is not, it is a smoky dark grey.
Using levels I suspect a small gap at the left of the histogram. Pull the left slider in a lttle and I am certain that it will improve. Alternatively, as Garry suggests use the curve to the same effect

Thanks chaps,

Been shooting RAW over the last six months, so didn't quite get this one right.

I'll re-edit

Thanks again
Colin
