Importance Of Pixels

Tue May 08, 2007 9:48 pm

GREETINGS!

I decide to update yesterday from a D350 to a D30.

My decision was hard to take, since I was decided [at the first time] to switch from a D70 to a D80. My only concern [at this time] is the two megapixels difference between both. Basically I use my camera for "general purposes" [family parties, panoramic, and some spotting].

I will appreciate if some D30 owners can tell their experiences with the D30, and if the difference of the two megapixels is very noticeable.

Thanks to all you folks in advance!

Signed,

Hello!

I think you are mixing something here, are you talking about Nikon or Canon?

Because the D70 and the D80 are both Nikon while the EOS350D and the 30D are from Canon...

I can't say anything about Canon, but for the Nikon I would definately go for the D80! It is a really good camera and a lot better than the D70! (a few more years of development  Wink )

Cheers

What I was try to said, is that instead of update from my Nikon D70 to the D80, I updated from a Canon D350 [XT] to a Canon D30 [same megapixels, 8].

I hope didn't take a bad decision.

Thanks again.

might want to be more specific, as the models you are talking about are named the 350D and the 30D (the D30 is an old 3mpix model from Canon). You didn't make a bad decision, the 30D is a great camera and had a better grip (for me at least)

Unless you systematically need to crop heavily your pictures you will not notice the difference at all, do not worry.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

[It's definitely the 30D].

It really depends on how you output the images. If you never print larger than 8x10 and only send compressed files over the net, you'll never notice the difference in size.
