Still Soft?

Tue Jun 26, 2007 8:43 am

Hey all,

This photo was rejected for softness for a second time, though I obviously sharpened it before re-uploading.

The weather was hazy and I can see that quality is not fantastic, but I don't see any softness - do you?
It's an unexciting photo but quite a rare aircraft outside the UK, so I'd like to get it on.

Hi Peter,

The area at the bottom of the nose seems a little soft and also along the bottom of the rear end of the fuselage. It does seem a bit of a harsh rejection though. Especially bearing in mind there are only 6 of this reg. in the DB and the only one outside the UK was taken at LBG 10 years ago.

Regards,

Tim.

Peter

I agree with Tim, but I think your picture has more of a blurriness problem rather than a soft issue. I don´t know if you can save it, because more sharpening passes will probably affect the quality in an undesired way.

Good luck with it!  Smile

Those are ussually hard to correct. Most of the time it ends up being oversharpened from correcting it and then quality goes down.

Thanks guys. thumbsup

I think I shot another frame that is actually sharper, I'll give it another try with that one.

To be honest, Peter, I'd say this one is worse. The blurriness is more noticable now.

Peter

It´s still a bit blurry. There are some parts in this pic (tail fin, for example) where the issue is a bit worse than on the first edit. The picture is a bit too grainy also.
