What's Around That Engine?

Wed Jul 04, 2007 6:58 pm

Hi, looking at this picture and trying to imagine different angles of view, I just can't find out what's that surrounding white "something"  Smile. Is it just wide-angle shot showing engine intake cowling or is the engine implemented into some white wall to show just front blade part and to hide the rest of the engine (maybe due to exhibition purposes at LeBourget)?

Any ideas appreciated.

I would say that it is a white angle shot from inside the intake of the engine...

But I think Tim will tell us soon  Wink

Wide angle anyway!! (not a criticism Bjorn, I am positive your spoken and written English is better than my German.. maybe better than my English!)

I would agree with your conclusion though.

Personally not a motive I thought would "fly" at A.net but that is only my personal opinion and again not a criticism.

Cheers

Yes it's just the cowling. I really stuck my 10mm lens right inside the engine Wink

Hi Guys,

i don't want to start another thread refering to the same picture as here, so please forgive me to
hijack this one a little bit.

When i saw that shot from Tim i was amazed by the motive and the brilliant quality. Just a very nice piece
of (aviation) photography. While looking at it a rejection, i had some time ago, came into my mind.
Absolutely not the same motiv, but if you like, it's also a "different" approach shooting an engine.
Only rejection reason was motiv. Given that both shots are not an everyday frame, what is the
essential fault my photo has motiv-wise? Thanks a lot for possible answers.

Please keep in mind that i'm not saying anything against Tim's photo, i do like such captures and
it well deserves a place in the database.

Thomas, we do not accept pictures of engines that are not attached to an aircraft.

Was the airplane standing vertically on it's tail when you took the photo? Nice photo though.
