Please Help Find Blemishes!

Wed Jul 11, 2007 8:26 am

Hi All,

Had this photo rejected for 'dirty':

Couldn't find any dust spots. A bit puzzled, as I can't really find any defects.

Could someone please help?

Cheers,
Andrei

Andrei

I passed the Equalize tool and then added some darkness with the Levels graph. Apparently the only noticeable blemishes are those spotted by Daniel, which appear to be birds or some kind of lamp post, actually, not dirt. Anyway, it´s recommended that you clone them out.  yes

Hope it helps.  Smile

I agree with Lanas, you should clone them out to aviod any confusion with the screeners.

Not really. I had seen them. Didn't clone them out because they

appear to be birds

or rather, aircraft flying in formation at a distance (the picture was taken at an airshow). Defects like that usually don't appear out of nowhere in digital photography. I just didn't think aircraft (or birds) in the air would qualify as blemishes.

I would have thought it would be 'bad_editing'  Smile, wouldn't it? But if you say so  Wink ...

Yes, you´re right, that´s more likely.  thumbsup

They don´t qualify as blemishes, but they can be mistaken with little spots of dirt. I believe that´s where the rejection comes from.

I´ve seen this issue in other threads, and I believe the general policy is to erase such blemish-like objects. I´ll try to find the links if I can.

Good luck with it. Big grin

I actually appealed and explained, but it fell on deaf ears  Sad ...

Well, I guess, that's what I'll have to do.

Thanks, everyone.
