Priority Question

Sat Jul 21, 2007 5:50 pm

Simple question. Do the priority rules outlined on the page only apply for civil operators or also for non civil?

Special markings on military aircrat qualify for Priority Screening.

The text linked from the second uopload page requires an update (as it also still lists the airshows which are no longer Priority).

Broadly-speaking, the guidelines are as follows:

New schemes
New special paints
New aircraft
New types for airline
Accident/incident (as long as they can be observed)
New hybrids (new rule)
New special-scheme military aircraft
Newsworthy events (Shuttle return to service, Restored Comet flight, Last flight of the A380, etc)

First shot of a new registration Southwest 737 or easyJet A319,
Same-old scheme/airline, just a different reg,
New registration Citation bizjet or Cessna 152, etc.
Museum roll-outs, unless it something earth-shattering
Airshows or flypasts

All rules apply to civil airliners, unless otherwise stated.

These are guidelines alone, pending the publication of a formal set of guidelines.

Like all publications, we reserve the right to amend or apply our discretion as we see fit. This is standard protocol for all major print and web media.
