F-15: Should It Stay Or Should It Go?

Mon Jul 30, 2007 3:15 pm

Hello everyone,

I shot this Eagle at our local airshow, and would like your opinion on whether I should keep it in the queue.

Thanks in advance!

I'd say it suffers from blurriness so my advise is... remove it from the queue.

it is a little soft and grainy around the tail although it might be salvageable with some editing

It's not as clear cut for these kinds of shots. If you look at many of them, most will have some loss of definition around the edges - it's just one of those things you've got to live with shooting at the long end of your glass, with a target moving at around 800km/h - it's not easy to get good results!

I'd say leave it in and see how it goes.

I think it would be really too bad if that shot didn't get in, even though it is not "tack" sharp. I actually like the slight haziness. Beautiful shot.

Yes I was there!

And I have a shot pretty much identical to yours, in which you could see afterburner exhaust. I took it just a few moments before the one that I uploaded. Sunday was a good day there.
Thanks for your comments guys!

Regards,

Oleg.

Keep it on. Nice shot, nice vapour, action, speed, it has it all. Who cares that it is not super sharp? This is an action photo, a good one, not one of this million boaring shots of a taxiiing aircraft, or landing, full side view, like a documentary picture, makes me yawn. This one makes me go "YES !! " Keep it in, please
