Rejection Help On A Couple..

Fri Aug 03, 2007 12:53 am

Got a couple of rejections I am trying to salvage. If the screener that rejected them could chime in as well as any one else I would appreciate it.

This was rejected for grain.

I am considering appealing this do you think it's worth it?

This I have to redo, it got color and dirt. I see some specks I am going to fix and was wondering if the only thing needed as far as the color is some more saturation. I tend not to use a lot of it in PP for I like the shot to look as natural as I can get it. What do you guys think?

I think the grain on the sky is a bit too much. Did you try noise reduction software?

I'm not on my editing monitor, but I'd guess the grain on the first one is on the underside of the wing. That's a very tough thing to do anything about, as it's a large area, and you can either try and remove the noise (I wouldn't bother) or darken the area slightly to subdue it.

The colour reject has puzzled me a little. I don't think it's far off - maybe the reds are a bit subdued.

I agree with the others, the sky in your first picture is grainy, maybe try NeatImage, I wouldn't appeal.
Cannot see a problem with the colors in the second one, the dust-spots are obvious. The wagon in the foreground also distracts from the aircraft, might get you a motive rejection in your re-upload.

Hi Nik

I can´t tell about the grainy one. Maybe on the sky, like Tony said, but I´m really not sure. However, the 737 pic has indeed some greenish colour cast and is a bit soft.

Hope it helps. Big grin

Thanks everyone!

I am going to shelve the Austrian and redo the WN. Thanks for all your help.

I don't know how much processing you did on the Austrian but because its surrounded by sky ....use the magic wand tool to select the sky then "Select"...."Inverse". This will ensure that you only process the aircraft leaving the sky as you shot it.
