Please Have A Look At These

Thu Aug 16, 2007 9:49 pm

I have been doing a bit of re editing some shows. Can you please tell me how they look and what I could do to improve them?

From CDG.

Hi Andy,

Just some quick comments on your edits:
1. Blurry/oof/soft, didn't check but it may need some CCW. Personally I would put it lower in the frame.
2. Soft/oof, some jaggies starting to appear on high contrast areas, needs slightly more contrast.
3. Soft/blurry, needs some contrast, didn't check but it might need some CW rotation.
4. Soft/oof, needs some contrast. Personally I would put it lower in the frame.
5. Oversharpened/soft, needs more contrast, too dark, grainy.
I'm afraid that most probably none of the pics as shown would be accepted. Mostly they suffer from softness, and according to the other parameters I'd tend to think that you have a problem with your lens (not the best quality?).
Hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply. I have a Tamron 70-300mm that costs about £200. Is this the problem then? I have it on an EOS 400D so the camera certainly isnt the problem. My computer monitor is prety crappy too which might not help!

I have taken and edited lots of pics after reading the advice on here but they always come out like the ones I have shown. I just can's seem to get them any better really. I have done A-level photography and got an A grade so I do know a bit about photography, though I am new to aviation photography. Although I really enjoy taking the pics it is getting a bit frustrating to not have got one in the database after more than 6 months and at least 10 uploads.

I don't think so.
The CDG spot looks difficult to me.
The EMA doesn't seem so bad to me, although I'm seeing it on a poor monitor.
Alternatively if this frustrates you, perhaps try a small airfield where things are generally easier, even if you don't care about Cessnas much.
