Too Dark?

Tue Aug 21, 2007 2:02 am

Here's a shot I like: shortly after take off from LGA, with Manhattan in the background (click for the larger version).

Is it going to get dark? Is the inclusion of Manhattan, albeit in the distance, enough to balance out the dark wing?

Hi Tony

I don´t know the criteria for such almost-night wing shots, but I believe you´ve got a pretty sharp image there. However, I think there´s not too much detail of the landscape you´re trying to show. That might play against its chances.
What I would try to do is boost the contrast up a bit, if possible, and also I believe it needs a bit of CCW rotation. I´m not sure about that though.

Nice shot. Good luck with it.  bigthumbsup

I don't know either! All my night shots have been rejected for dark!!!

That's my worry too.

I've already increased it compared to the original. Any more and it looks a bit too contrasty in my eyes...

I played around with ration and I think this is what I'm happy with. We'll see...
