Rejected 3 Times Already - Time To Give It Up?

Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:57 am

Hi guys,

I really like this shot, but just can't seem to get it accepted:

http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/...name=20070829_N947UWwjmossPHL3.jpg

Before this last rejection, it had been rejected twice, both for oversharpened.

This time, these were my rejection reasons: quality, personal, grainy, soft, oversharpened.

The personal note said "Soft tail".

With that being said, is there a way to save this shot? Take note that there is only one other photo of this registration in the database (it's N947UW, an ERJ190).

Any comments are more than welcome. Thanks.  Smile

Hi

Yes, the picture looks indeed soft. On the tail it looks like it wasn´t properly focused, therefore the loss in quality, I believe. I don´t see many oversharpened areas, though.
Sky is grainy as well. A little noise reduction could come handy there.

Good luck with it.  Smile

Cheers

Hi Lanas, thanks for your reply.  Smile

I do believe that you're right in saying that the picture probably was never completely focused to begin with. With that being said, there's only so much I can do shooting through an ERJ window with a Canon Powershot.  Wink

The problem with noise reduction is that it seems to make the entire image very soft, and when I use selective noise reduction, it creates an obvious line to where that selection's boundaries were.

Thanks again, and I'll keep working on the photograph.

p.s. Gary, I've sent you an email.
