NW At DCA- Advice Please

Thu Aug 30, 2007 12:25 pm

It has been a while since I've been on here to ask advice (and given some recent rejections, maybe I should ask more often). I have a shot that I took at DCA last night, and, so far, all I've done in PS is Auto Levels, Sharpen, Auto Contrast, and Resize. Question is, is it good as is, or does it need some additional work?

Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I don't think that there is any chance to get the picture in the database as the original seems to be very blurry.
Your edit could be cropped tighter to the rear. The image is soft around the cockpit and slightly oversharpened in some areas. Maybe a result of of an attempt to compensate the blurriness in the picture.

The colours look odd to me and there is some noise.

Regards
Stefan

Okay, I went and cropped it, used auto color, and resized it to 1024.

Am I at least headed in the right direction?

Em: What all did you do to that? I can tell a difference, but I can't tell what you did.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see that you cropped the top and bottom a bit.

Okay, here's the recrop:

Plus, a couple of other shots I was considering submitting:

For the nose category:

And for the tail category:

Hey,
for the N311US:
-Exposure
-Gamma
-Brightness
-Contrast
-Color Balance
-Saturation
-Reduce Noise
and I have cutted it on the high and on the down border.

For the nose category the CRJ is not centred, and for the tail category crop and resize.  Wink

Cheers
