Indeed ideal place... and no problems with dust, heat-haze, people, etc  Smile
but how does one level a shot over there??

That is SO beautiful.... I'm stunned by just looking at the photos, imagine how these guys feel up there with nothing but space around them!

Great shots indeed. By the way, every NASA mission generates thousands of such images and they are all available online (in high res) at the NASA website below:

There are some wonderful shots to be found in here. You might have to do some seaching but it is certainely worth it.

Remember that by it's mandate, NASA has to allow the general public access to them.

It's hard to even imagine there are actual people, humans in those suits... jus floatin out there. Not surprising they have a little trouble readjusting to life back here on Earth. It must give you a whole different perspective on most everything after being in a location like that.

NASA uses specially equipped and modified Nikon D2Xs to take their photos in space. I wonder why Nikon doesn't advertise that a lot, it sounds like a great marketing campaign.
