38%... Prescreening Help

Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:38 am

Alright, so seeing as my acceptance rate now stands at 38%, I'm feeling the need to do a little prescreening on some of the shots I'm not quite sure about. Any opinions on these are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

N11524 - can't decide for the life of me whether or not this shot is level

N640SW - I love the vortices, but am unsure about the quality

N312JC - The sun hadn't risen yet. Unsure if it's too dark or not, and if the quality is good enough. And there's a weird arch-kinda-thing with it's base at the top of the tail... I have no idea what that is. To the best of my memory, I don't think there's any structure like that. Could that possibly be condensation?

Preciate the help!

Hi Mike!

Don't get discouraged; the good thing about low acceptance ratios is that from a certain point it can only get better!  Wink

1) Taking the taxiway as reference I'd say it needs around 0.2° CCW rotation. However the shot also looks soft/blurry and oversharpened in places (cheatlines!).
2) again soft/blurry (nose section fuselage) and oversharpened in places (flaps)
3) pretty nice for a panning shot; needs a little more USM and jaggies on the tail removed.

Good luck!

No 1 - Looks level but overexposed and blurry.

2 - Lacking in contrast.

3 - Like it, great panning shot. The arch thing maybe a little off putting and no I have no idea what it is either!

Good luck .. Jid
