Reject, Mah...

Sun Nov 04, 2007 6:05 pm

Hi,

www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/20071104_AlbaBCN.jpg

The screener have reject my photo with two reasons.
1-Motive
My opinion: Is not bad motive, but is nice dawn shot over the see.
2-Grainy
My opinion: Where is grainy?!, according to me is perfect.

I'm very angry for this decide of the screener (in training).
Screener, what is your justification?

Best Regards
Emanuele

1-Motive

Just to back this one up, unfortunately, there is not nearly enough of the "Aircraft" (in this case the wing) in the shot. In other words, this is a shot you would see more often at Sunsetpics.net, not airliners.net  wave

Hi Emanuele,

Yes, that's the reason for this motive rejection. Not enough "wing" is visible.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

We've all been there dude where a screener has made a decision that we don't personally agree with and I'm sure it's nothing personal. I think the mark of a great photographer is being willing to look at your own photos through another person's eyes and see what they see. When you can do that, your photography will improve by leaps and bounds.

Why? Look at any other window-view shot in the database and you'll see the amount of wing required to avoid a motive rejection. Yours was clearly a justified rejection, what reason do you have to be angry?

p.s. Just because it was screened by a screener in training doesn't mean that the screener didn't properly screen the photograph.

It makes no sense, we must change criterion. Because is absurd, the screeners don't accept that photo so special, only for the small wing. But we accept banal shot with an aircraft parked in the apron. OK, is an Aviation Photography site, but take my photo is possible only inside an aircraft, the overview of my photo is possible only inside an aircraft, the wing is of the aircraft.
Then is not a photo for "Sunsetpics.net" but for A.net, because this picture was taken in flight.
A.net=All photos concerning the flight

Maybe it's special to you, but there's not much aviation related in this photo.

You are quite right, this isn't "sunsetpics.net"

It's not doing you any good to argue this rejection. We've been over and over these kinds of shots in the forum.

Yes, that is banal, but isn't bad!
I didn't say what the pictures taken from the parking are bad, but banal!

Well, that's all just a matter of personal opinion.

If that were my business jet I'd sure as hell like the apron photo better!

Quit now mate, you're only making things worse for yourself. We are going to agree and disagree with screener's decisions. You got an answer from a screener which is more that a lot of us get. Take it on board and move on.

What is this photo trying to show? I think you should have included more wing.

It's a nice photo - but there's not enough airliner showing to be an airliners.net photo. One for the personal collection perhaps.

I can see grain on it, but I still think it's a beautiful image. Have it printed large and frame it.

Don't be angry about it, it's a great image for a different type of use.  Smile

I would take the advice of others here and move on!

No offence intended but I tend to think the grain and large expanse of grey would see it rejected at sunsetpics.net as well

Everyone hates getting photos rejected indifferent

Might as well learn from the rejections, & work at gettin' better shots in the future. optimist

Spend some time checking out 'wing view' photos on the database. It's a fun & helpful way to inspire yourself..

Good Luck!

It's still very interesting to see how much the scenery can affect a motive.  duck  Regardless of wing percentage visible.. ziplip  If only your shot was taken on final liar
