My Turn With Rejections

Sat Nov 17, 2007 7:22 am

Hello!

I haven't uploaded for a couple of months and this "turn" with uploading wasn't really successful.

5 shots rejected out of around 17, three which I'm really uncertain about:

These two were from Gatwick, and rejected for level. IMO this place is really awkward for leveling, could anyone tell me what I need to get them straight? Qatar was also rejected for colour, I'll try to fix that.

This C340 pic was IMO one of the best pics I took in this trip to England, it seems A.net disagreed; dark and level.

Level -- I now think it needs a tiny cw rotation...
Dark -- it's taken in backlit conditions, I didn't mind, as I thought there was a different "feeling" when the pic is backlit, if I tune the brightness even more up, I guess the highlights will really blow and the "feeling" of the backlight goes.

Anyone care to give me his opinion?

Many thanks,
Davide

It looks to me as if the two Gatwick shots need to be rotated slightly CW. It is only very slight though. The posts are quite short on the right hand side but don't look exactly true vertical.

Just my opinion. Anybody else think the same.

Nice shots though.

Hope this helps

The Gatwick ones do have a unlevel appearance although compared to the buildings in the background they are pretty much straight, guess the runway isn't level.

The C340 seems to have a contrast problem.
I don't have a problem with backlit photo's either but they are harder to edit, should be safeable with some careful "levels" work I think.
Turn the brightness of the highlights down to get a more balanced photo.

Success David.

Thank you!

Going to reedit them with more cw rotation and see how that will look.

Will have this in mind, and try to reedit that photo also. I'm not used to editing backlit shots, so I knew the shot would be a problem.

Success David.

Dank je Willem.

Best regards,
David

PS: I must edit my posts; it's a C310 not a C340 in the first post. Should have noticed the mistake!  ashamed
