Editing Help

Wed Dec 05, 2007 3:14 am

I am currently using a Canon 40D and Adobe CS3. I also shoot all my pictures in Raw format and I have been trying to get more of my photos on here just like many of you are. I am just seeing if anybody has any ideas for me on maybe what I am doing or not doing. Thank You

What camera mode are you shooting in? With the look of the photo's, I suspect you are shooting in one of the auto modes with a high ISO? If thats the case, I would go back to basics and try shooting with an ISO of 100 or 200 (as the conditions dictate) in either apperture priority or shutter priority and learn the camera more. A well exposed photo is far easier to edit than one which is slightly off. Your processing doesn't look too bad but how are you sharpening them? Are you using unsharp mask or just 'sharpen more'? They look oversharpened (grainy) which is why I've come to these conclusions.

There's a useful guide to photo processing on the uploads page.
