Spotting At SFO, PHX And MEX Questions

Sat Feb 09, 2008 5:03 am

I am going to mexico on march 8 and am travelling from YVR to SFO to MEX, then on the 5 of april coming back MEX to PHX to YVR. I have 2 and a half hours in both SFO and PHX, and was wondering what your suggestions are of places to go. In SFO I have to change from a domestic to the international terminal, because of pre-customs in YVR, but in PHX I am in the international one the whole time. Any suggestions for good places to go in the terminals?

I am going down on United 735 and 320 then back on a US 319 and 320. I have seats 14F, then 16F, then 12F, then 8F in that order.

Looking forward to it, tw new airlines, two new airports, and two new aircraft.  Smile

I am looking so forward to it. Also because I am going by myself.

As long as the number of take-offs equals the number of landings...you're doing fine.

In PHX, you'll be in Terminal 4, which is the biggest terminal and is home to US, WN and many international flights. You can either walk through the terminal and take pictures at gates and at the ends of the concourses, or you can take the elevator up to the roof of the parking garage (which sits directly above the terminal). The elevator for the parking garage is located in the main part of the terminal before you go through security. The top level of the garage is Level 9, although sometimes I go to Level 8 in order to stay in the shade.

Quoting Flyboyseven (Thread starter):

PHX doesn't really have an "International Terminal" they do have the facilities in a terminal. Now I don't know what the procedures are there for when you deplane but if you don't clear customs I don't know of much space to see out side, being that the international arrivals area is on the lower level of the airport. Now if you do clear customs Jakbar is right there are a number of places in the terminal allowing you to see a large number of aircraft and you are also near the end of the runway so you can potentially see many aircraft from the other terminals.
One mile of highway gets you one mile, one mile of runway gets you anywhere.
