Can Anyone Help Me With An Edit Please?

Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:55 pm

Hi

Over the past few days I've been having a bit of a nightmare with my editing. I've got a VS A346 that I've been working on... I'll post the original cropped and resized but not edited, and then my edit. I'm assuming I've messed up the sharpening again. My old workflow used to work fine, but since i got my new monitor things have gone to pot. It consists of:

Crop & resize
Adjust Brightness / Contrast
Magic Wand the sky, then inverse. Expand 1 pixel
USM 50, 0.3, 0
Duplicate Layer
USM 50, 0.3, 0
Eraser tool to erase jaggies
Flatten image
Save as JPG with Quality of 12

But all my latest attempts I've oversharpened so not even bothered trying to upload. I'm guessing I have again?

Can anyone spare some time to edit my original to show me how it should be done so I can see where I'm going wrong on this monitor ? I know it's a big ask but I'm tearing my hair out here!

Thanks in advance, I'll get it right one day.

James

Hi James

Your edit isn't look bad (some parts may be very slightly blurry). If you like, you could send the original photo to me, and I could give it a go. My email address is bubbles@airliners.net.

Very similar to your steps. But I used USM 200, 0.2, 0 once, and then selective sharpening.
