Colour Rejection Help Please.

Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:51 pm

I received a colour rejection on the below image. I'm looking for suggestions as to what I could do to improve the COLOURS and/or COLOUR CAST. It's not the greatest scan, I'm only just learning how to scan to tell the truth, so let's keep any suggestions this time to the rejection reason please.

I can tell you how I did it, if you want to know via PM or something (if what I did is even correct, lol)

Hi Spencer - it's not too difficult to remove. The key is getting the Info palette open in Photoshop (assuming you have it)

Here's how I removed it:

Make a threshold layer select white point and black point - you will see when doing this there is a colour cast as the RGB from the Info palette are not equal. Either use Curves or Levels, select white eye dropper and drop it on the white point you found from Threshold. Do same for Black point. This just about removes the cast.

There was also a cast in the mid tones - so I found a neutral gray and again using either Curves or Levels selected the grey/mid eye dropper and selected the point.

The key is making sure when you have a black/white or mid grey the Info palette shows the same values for each of the R, G and B channels.

Thanks very much for all the help/suggestions. Appreciate it a lot. I'll have another bash at it from scratch and see how I fair. Cheers.
