Corrections On A Rejected Photo

Thu Mar 13, 2008 2:11 pm

Hi,
I need your opinions about a photo which was rejected for CENTERED and OVERSHARPENED :

Rejected one :
1a. http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3801/b737ramzh3.jpg

The new one I want to upload :
1b. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/5194/sharpened3xv2.jpg

Is the second one OK ?

By the way, what do you think of this one ?

Thanks,
Alex

The second is still not centered correctly. You need to move the aircraft higher in the frame (I generally place the center of the image at the windows on an angle like this (see my JFK shots in the Database).

Also, careful with sharpening, as there are slight jaggies alone the outside of the tail.

Thank you TIS,

I thought the space between top of the photo and upper part of the aircraft (here the tail) should be the same as the one between bottom and lower part (here the left wing).
I will change this and try to erase the jaggies.

If you use the top of the tail as your gauge, the bulk of the aircraft will be too low in the frame. Arbitrary rules like pixel counting usually don't work - the image has to look centered (perhaps a better word is "balanced").

Thanks B and Jetfreak

B, if the image have to look centered, I have to move the aircraft to the left ? The bulk is too much on the right because of the little left wing in the empennage.

Anyway, I moved the aircraft higher in the frame, here is the result :

And what about this photo ? Does it have a chance in Airliners.net ?
