### Spotting Hours, How Many A Year?

For the year 2007, I decided to count them:

January: 2h 15
February: 5h 45
March: 3h 00
April: 5h 10
May: 9h 00
June: 11h 05
July: 29 h 00
August: 15h 50
September: 5h 15
October: 6h 40
November: 4h 35
December: 5h 15

Grand total: 102h 50m!

How many hours a year do you pass around airports?

### RE: Spotting Hours, How Many A Year?

These aren't actual, just guesses

January: 1hr
February: 1hr
March: 3 hr
April: 3hr
May: 2 hr
June: 14hr
July: 12hr
August: 10hr
September: 3hr
October: 1hr
November: <1hr
December: 1hr

Total 51 - 52 hours per year.

Not as much as I would like to spot. At OKC, 1 hour equals normally 3 departures and 3 arrivals, and most of my spotting is done at OKC. So, that may give you an idea of how much idle time I have at the airport.

Well, here at CZNL (Nelson BC), 1 hour sometimes = 1 or 2 Cessna 172s and a couple helicopters! Thats also a reason I have to pass so much time spotting to even see something! Only in July/August do we get more traffic.

Uh... in 2007 this is what I got:

2 hours at the National Naval Aviation Museum.

It wasn't a good year for spotting.

Too many if you ask my Fiance!

I'm lucky as I live close to SYD.

My dogs need to be walked so they get to come with me ... they love it.

I average about 3-5hrs a week. Unfortunately I don't have a photo editing suite yet so I've got lots of potentially good photos but can't attempt to submit them to the DB just yet.

Indeed! LOL
