Am I missing something here? Aircraft photography is not against the law - you shouldn't need permission to take photographs from a publicly assessable location. As always, have your ID handy and be respectful if questioned.

LOL..... you are right, taking a photo of an airplane isn't against the law, but if you do it from private property, it can be restricted. Airport property while publicly accessible is still owned by the city/county it resides in and is considered private property. If they want to say 'no' to photography, all they have to do is say it's in the interest of public security.

...the DHS reference was just a little humor....

I know, I saw that in the other thread also. And I agree, if you are on airport property, you can get chased off if they are so inclined, although I've been successful about 90% of the time when dealing with law enforcement. And believe me - shooting at NYC airports, you will get to know the folks in law enforcement. I've gotten to meet representatives of 3 different police departments, and the FBI over the past few years.

i am just flying in and out there and i will be there for a while due to the distance i have to drive to get my destination and i would like to be able to spot in the terminals. MTJ is only served by ERJ's ,CRJ's and dehaviland Dash 8's
