Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:33 pm

Fellow photographers!

Has anybody experiences with the Sigma 4,5-5,6/120-400mm OS APO HSM? Does the image stabilizer a good job? How is the image quality?

I don't owe a Sigma, but just bought a German magazine with a test in it together with a 150-500mm and a Canon 100-400mm, it seems they are nearly equal to the Canon, some parts less some parts better but the main differences are the price and the weight, Sigma weighs double the Canon's weight and costs half of it.

I have the Sigma 120-400mm and am very pleased with it. I will however mention that I don't use the OS feature due to the fact that it is somewhat unstable. You can see some of my photos on my flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/avsfan. This one in particular was taken at 400mm (w/o the OS), A-Priority (f/5.6), shutter speed of 1/500 and an ISO of 200.
