Also be aware that those photos didn't look like that when they came off the camera...

The SriLaken and the Star Alliance EgyptAir are my shots. Both were taken with a Canon EOS 350D and a Sigma 50-500 lens.

As Whappeh says the photos don't look like that straight off the camera, a bit of post-processing work has been done in Photoshop.

Regards,

Mark

The BA 320 and DL 767 are my brothers shots and were taken with a Canon 400D with a EF70-300 is lens, i was standing next to him at the time.  Big grin

He spent about £700 on this setup.

Ok, will i be able to do some editing of these photos on basic software such as Gimp 2?

Also will the camera which Vaporlock told me about me good enough to get on this website with a bit of editing?

Thanks

Abssolutly, you do not need a DSLR! the Canon A720 IS is also very capable with 8 MP and 6X zoom (200mm. equivalent) The canons come with their own proscesing programs wich are very good, Gimp and Picasa will do the basic job too, I usually crop and straighten with Picasa and use Zoombrowser (canon) for effects. You can not go wrong with a Canon, I did not mention they have an optical viewfinder also, not just the screen, very important for following flying airplanes. Good luck!

Jordan, yes the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS is definately a good enough camera to get shots on a.net with.

The optical on this is 20x (the higher the optical the better) and it has lots of amazing features for the money and as mentioned is around $396. Canadian.

Canon A720 IS

This is a good camera as well but the Optical is only 6x - the cost on this camera is around $200. Canadian.

FYI

The Panasonic FZ-28 gets good reviews as well. 10.1Mpix, 27-486mm 35mm equivalent, which is more than enough for your needs; 18x compared to the Canon 20x.
