"One Recent Photo That Made You Go Wow" Mark VI

Sat Dec 20, 2008 10:32 pm

The usual rules: only ONE photo per post, recent photos much preferred (old hidden gems admitted, though), STRICTLY NO SELF-PLUGGING, PLEASE.

The picture is breathtaking; one can easily feel the emotions the people who saw the Lumiere brothers incoming train felt. And extremely difficult to take!!!

Congratulations, Javier and Isma.

I know it sounds so "me-too", but I'm going to list that one as well. Incredibly eye-catching, and nice work by the screeners not to knock it out on some easy motive, distance, dark or quality rejection.

It's a great photo.  Smile

I screened the DHL 757 and was verry happy seeing that one!

Well done Pawel, one of the best this year so far.

I have to say here that "KO" letters above the cockpit glass together with the snow gives this special picture a comic-like dramatism.
I hereby declare I'm a big fan of Warsaw deice and night captures. Congrats to the WAW crew!!

Stunning photo. I actually can't view it large, because it makes me dizzy. I think I need new glasses. Embarrassment

Is it just me or are those colours AWESOME?

Proves once again that you don't need a special subject to take good photos!

Awesome shot!

It's an awesome shot and I'm sorry to hear was negatively affected by the site issues yesterday. At least right now it made Photogs Choice.

However, anyone else think that shot might look better rotated 90 degrees CCW as a portrait? Visually, something strikes me as not quite right...I think it's the shadows. Not attacking or criticizing the photog, it's an awesome shot for sure! Just an interesting choice of layout in my optinion. Anyway I'm rambling...

The guy has more images so we can probabaly enjoy more of these in the future!

Maybe the shot was taken froma weird downward angle but yes it could also work in portrait.

Agree. The original I have seen was portrait and the uploaded is landscape. The portrait one looks far more pleasing to the eye than the uploaded one.

The problem could be easely solved if time of presence at the 24hrs list would start not from acceptance but from real upload. For DM I guess it shoudn't be difficult to improve it in future.

Photo is just great. Fantastic! Hope it will collect missed views at Photogs Choice.

Fyodor

surely amazing! But if a shot is outstanding and nearly impossible to get for "normal" people an explanation would be a good thing to corroborate that this is a seriously taken picture and not a photoshop product.

that´s how I do see this.....

If that is what "really" worries you, you could have googled "Mark Holtzman photography" and do a bit of research before and instead of spreading doubt about that picture in this forum.
In case you are too lazy to do that, feel free to check this out:
