Screening Queue

Is it a bug that is causing hardly any pictures that have been accepted?

Yesterday it appeared the screening team were revving up for some hardcore screening again. A lot of photos jumped into screening in a short period of time, including two of mine. But since then, nothing has changed...my photos have been in screening for over a day now.

Either all 22 screeners are taking a break, or something is happening again, but the members are kept "in the dark".

There are a lot of images in screening at the moment due to there being a problem with images getting added to the database in line with the thread about them going missing.
We believe that the problem has been identified but it is not yet technically resolved.
To prevent even more going missing, it is safer to not add them

Thanks Mick. Quick question though... Are images still being screened with rejections exiting the queue but acceptances just sitting there waiting until the problem is fixed before they are added? Or has screening come to a halt altogether?

I think that screening is simply not happening at the moment due to the time of the day (I am writing from work) though otherwise it would be carrying on
It is precisely as you have put it, and images are simply being rejected or give an HQ, passed for a second or third screen. Quite a few are ready to be added as soon as we are able so it is likely that a mass will hit the database in a short time which, I know, causes problems for those who worry about their hits.
Given that it is the middle of the night in California where the boffins are, I would hope for some sort of update later today
