Has someone ever died because he/she had to wait a little bit?

Hi,

just as mentioned in this thread there is a delay of a few hours in adding the pictures to the database due to a technical problem.

All accepted pictures will be added as soon as possible and in the meantime we ask for your patience. Please also consider that screening times are short at the moment and a few hours waiting time won't hurt anybody.

You should re-read the link where this glitch has been described and explained.

It is unlikely that your photos are worth dying for ...

Did I say someone was going to die then? Re-read mine  Smile

Just have some patience ... You can wait some time (hours/days) for your photo(s) being screened, so a little wait untill they are added to the database isn't that bad I think ...

I had two photos accepted eight and a half hours back, and they still don't show. Something seems to be very wrong with the system. This morning 6 of my accepted photos showed up after 2 hours. I think it must be more that just pressing a button.

I suggest we give the obviously badly stressed up crew some consideration and do not add to the distress they must be feeling. I am just happy that my photos were accepted and what is another day or so between friends.

Baldur Sveinsson.

Obviously a number of photographers feel that way I do.

Well said!

Currently, accepted photos are being added manually.

I do appreciate the job the screeners do and no one is going to die because their photo has not been added. I understand that photos have to be added manually, but the last photo to be added was done so 8 hours ago. I assume photos have been accepted since then and have been waiting (up to 8 hours).

I don't know exactly what it takes to go ahead and add the photos manually, whether it is a simple press of a button, or a rewrite of 1000 lines of code, I just ask that while screening is going fantastically fast, that the photos be manually added within 30 minutes to 1 hour of acceptance. I would love to know the process of "manually" adding photos.

Am I asking too much here? Please let me know if I am.

Hi.

My two that have been waiting in the wings for nine hours, just popped up here. I will refrain from uploading new things untill this settles. I suggest more people take a little break too.

Hi Everyone,

We appreciate your patience. As we continue to recover from the issues of a few days ago, the photo add is currently manually run and spot checked. So, there is a longer than normal delay from when you receive the email and the photo going live.

Once we believe the photo upload, screen and add process is stable, we will begin running the automated adds.

Photographer concerns are noted and understood.
