Access To Site-Related / Free Photographer Accts.

Thu Feb 19, 2009 1:48 am

Effective immediately, users with free photographer accounts should now be able to view (but not post in) the site-related forum and its respective threads.

This is in direct response to feedback we've received from members who want to be aware of site development news, the status of bug reports, etc.

Members with free photographer accounts will still be limited to posting only within the Photography forum itself.
Please use moderators@airliners.net to contact us.

There seems to be a bug associated with this change.

When I tried to upload photos, I got a login request which I normally don't get. Then, when I tried to login the system would not allow it. I even had my password re-sent to me in case I had it wrong (I didn't).

I'm posting this reply here because I also appear to be locked out of viewing, let alone posting in, the Site-related forum.

Hi Philthy,

Can you do the following to make sure you are properly logged in?

1) clear browser cache
2) clear browser cookies
3) login at http://www.airliners.net/login/

You should see your name in the top right corner indicating the site see you as a logged in user.

Then try to access and post in Site Related. Also, you should not get a login request on photo upload.

If you experience problems, please provide the page you were on (showing logged in) and the following page (showing you were logged out). Additionally, let me know if you "re-logged in" such as when posting in the forums.

The more information you have the better so we can isolate the pages and steps at which a problem occurs.

Thanks,
Ming

Quoting Philthy (Reply 1):

When uploading a recent image I experienced this also, the login prompt displays from the upload page would not log me in even though correct username & password was being used.

Pressing "home" then going to the "login" link at the top right of the screen allowed me to login correctly (using same username + password). After this I went back to the upload page and didn't experience any further problems.
