Yes, it's called 'Clipper Day' and takes place every year. For years the event was staged over a single day, however in 2007 numbers were so large that the organiser (Guido Allieri) decided to host it over two days. This new arrangement started in 2008.

I was on the trip in 2007 and it was a very comprehensive ramp tour, geared more towards photog's than spotters. The three places they take you on the field are simply amazing - right by the side of one of the main runways, the cargo and charter ramp and finally a patch of grass right by the main taxiway.

This years event is set for 13th and 20th September, and many of the available places are by invite only, so you'll need to hurry to guarantee your place. The fee this year is EUR10 plus EUR 5 for your high-vis jacket - try contacting Guido direct at guido@allieri.com. A copy of your passport will also need to be emailed/faxed to satisfy the Italian police authorities.

Hope this helps.

Karl
